Spanish tech company Nuuk will play a key role in La Torre, a village affected by the 2024 DANA storm, where a pilot test will take place in June 2026 to trial an advanced emergency detection and management system. Valencia’s Local Police will test unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles, remotely or autonomously controlled, to detect anomalies in hazardous areas.
This project, funded by a €203,915 grant from the European Commission, aims to enhance police operational capabilities through AI-based technologies. Nuuk collaborates with six other international partners, including the National Police forces of Latvia and Lithuania, across four countries.
In the first phase, partners collect and analyze real-time data to predict emergencies and develop a robust alert system, improving geolocation for both the public and emergency teams. Next, data from aerial and satellite images, sensor networks, and meteorological information will be optimized.
Finally, the project will integrate robotics for operations in dangerous zones and provide innovative solutions for disaster recovery and infrastructure rehabilitation.
